Zhores Alferov, the winner of 2000 Nobel Prize in Physics, officially accepted invitation to participate at the Laser Helsinki 2010 Congress.
Zhores Alferov is a Russian physicist and academician, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He contributed significantly to the creation of modern heterostructure physics and electronics. He is an inventor of the heterotransistor and the winner of 2000 Nobel Prize in Physics. He is also a Russian politician and has been a member of the Russian State Parliament, the Duma, since 1995. Lately, he has become one of the most influential members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

Problems with e-mails and abstract submission was recently reported. Now it is fixed, but due to that problem abstracts submission was not fully functional for some days. Organizing committee decided to extend deadline for abstract submission until May 30, 2010.
